Every summer, a group of devotees travel around England staging Hare Krishna festivals in towns and cities all over the country!!! Using a big blue bus as their base, they spend a few weeks at each place advertising the festival with posters, street processions and fliers. Held in a variety of locations, such as town halls, universities and theatres, these free public festivals attract crowds of up to a thousand. With the purpose of introducing the Krishna consciousness philosophy, the festival crews treat the audience to an entertaining stage show comprising drama, traditional Indian dance, music, multimedia presentations, Vedic philosophy, and of course the famous Hare Krishna singing and dancing. At the end of the evening, free sanctified vegetarian food is served to all. The
Hare Krishna Festival also features at all the major summer music festivals (Glastonbury,
Big Green Gathering and Virgin Festival), enabling partygoers to have a taste
of the Hare Krishna experience. To find out more visit www.hkfestivals.org |
