DESCRIPTION:Saturday 9 July 2022\nA free ticket will be required to take part in the Festival of Colours. Please book below.\nA day of Summer celebrations and festivities\, where everyone can participate in the spiritual music of Kirtan\, browse the various market stalls\, enjoy karma free vegetarian food\, and take part in various exciting activities. The highlight of the day will be the Festival of Colours (two sessions)\, traditionally done to celebrate the arrival of spring and ending of winter\, the festival creates a scene filled with bright and vibrant colours\, a visual feast for the eyes. No matter your age or beliefs\, everyone is welcome to join in the fun of throwing colours\, creating a feeling of unity between all. \nThe market stalls\, kirtan\, and other activities will be running from 4pm-9:30pm. Colours will be purchasable on-site. \nColours are only to be thrown within designated areas. \nOnce you have colours on you\, you will not be allowed in any internal areas of Temple & Sri Krishna Haveli. \nDo not throw colours in people’s eyes or mouth. It is even more fun to rub the colours into the hair\, back of the neck and cheeks with permission.  \nDo not throw colours on any passing cars\, or on any performers\, musicians\, employees\, market stall holders etc.  \nFestival goers are advised to think twice before going into the middle of the crowd when the colours are first thrown. If you have not been before or have asthma\, being smack in the middle of the crowd will be a challenge. Stay close to the edges\, and have a cloth to cover your nose and mouth for the first three minutes. \nUnder no circumstances should small children be in the middle of the crowd\, unless high on the shoulders of an adult\, and wearing the right protection. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCan I bring my own colours?\n\n\n\nOutside colours will be confiscated and will not be allowed on onsite. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow much does it cost to participate?\n\n\n\nNo entry charge. A free ticket will be required if you wish to participate in the Festival of Colours. Please note that there will be colours to purchase on the day for you to use \nTickets will be released: Monday 27 June \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat times will the Festival of Colours take place?\n\n\n\n6pm & 8pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat should I wear?\n\n\n\nThe dry powders supplied may stain hair & clothes\, so festival goers are cautioned not to wear their best clothes. To avoid and/or minimise stain\, vigorously shake out all dry excess powder before stepping into a shower\, or throwing your clothes in the wash. Once the caked dry colours get wet\, it is hard to get out. However\, if one can shake as much as possible out while dry\, there is a good chance of not having coloured hair for the next month. \nIt is recommended to wear a dust mask / bandana / sunglasses to cover areas of your face to avoid powder entering your eyes\, mouth and nose. \nDo not wear contact lenses during the Festival of Colours. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIs the Festival of Colours suitable for children?\n\n\n\nThere is no age limit\, that is at the discretion of the parents / guardians. \nUnder no circumstances should small children be in the middle of the crowd\, unless high on the shoulders of an adult\, and wearing the right protection. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWill I be able to book a ticket for the Festival of Colours on the day itself?\n\n\n\nOnly if tickets are still available \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat happens if it rains?\n\n\n\nWe will only cancel the event if weather conditions do not allows us to park vehicles \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWill there be parking available?\n\n\n\nYes. There will be free parking available upon arrival and you will be guided where to park. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow do I get there?\n\n\n\nAddress\nBhaktivedanta Manor\nHilfield Lane\nWatford\nSat-Nav: WD25 8HE \nNote: Entrance to temple is via Hilfield Lane only. There is no entrance to the temple through Letchmore Heath village. For driving\, use approximate driving postcode WD25 8HE and follow road signs. Do not use WD25 8EZ\, as this will lead you to a nearby village. \nFor Public Transport & Map\, please CLICK HERE \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNotices\n\n\n\nBehaviour notice \nDrugs\, alcohol\, vaping\, and smoking are not permitted on festival grounds. \nWe reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone\, or to escort anyone off the property for improper conduct. \nPlease do not throw colours close\, hard\, and directly into the eyes and mouth. \nGenerally be nice to people\, and enjoy the festival in a loving spirit. \nHealth & Safety notice \nAllergens: The powders are 99% cornstarch\, and a very small percentage of people are allergic to corn. If you or your children have ever experienced hives and/or a rash after eating corn products\, or working with cornstarch in your kitchen\, be careful to fully cover your nose and mouth so as not to ingest any of the powder or do not participate. \nFire & Explosion Hazard:  Like all organic and most dry chemicals\, as a powder or dust\, this product (when mixed with air in critical proportions and in the presence of an ignition source) may present an explosion hazard.  The minimum ignition temperature reported for dry cornstarch\, through 200 mesh\, is 380°C (716°F).  Avoid open lights\, flames\, smoking materials\, hot coals of any type or welding in the area of the powder \nWe will have First Aid onsite.
