SUMMARY:Month of Kartik
DESCRIPTION:17 October – 15 November 2024\n\nDuring this time\, pilgrims come from far and wide to offer a lamp to Mother Yasoda and Lord Krishna. The importance of this month is described extensively in the scriptures\, especially in Srila Rupa Goswami’s Mathura Mahatmya. \nEvery day\, devotees come to the Temple and offer a candle to Lord Damodara. The Damodarastakam\, a series of eight beautiful verses by the great sage Satyavrata Muni\, is sung daily in the morning and evening. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	Daily Schedule\n\nMorning\n7am-7:20am \nEvening\n4:20pm  – 7:30pm \nNotes:\nCandles will be provided free of charge to everyone. Please do not bring your own candles\, lamps or ghee wicks for offering. One candle per person. \nOfferings will be paused between 6:30pm – 7pm as the curtains will be closed at this time. During this time there will be a special talk given on Krishna’s pastimes. \nChildren under 5 will not be given a candle. (Kirtan Hall) \nPrasadam served from 6:30pm-8pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAn opportunity for the whole community to come together and dive deeper into the pastime of Krishna lifting Govardhan Hill\, facilitated by special guest Govinda Krishna das \nAbout Govinda Krishna Das \nGovind Krsna Das\, popularly known as GKD\, based in Kurukshetra\, the land of Mahabharata\, Haryana is a motivational speaker\, spiritual educator\, travel blogger and most importantly a well renowned singer. GKD was born in Kurukshetra\, Haryana in a Brahma Madhva Gaudiya Vaishnava household to Father HG Shakshi Gopal Das (Temple President of Iskcon Kurukshetra) and Mother HG Bhagwati Devi Dasi. He has been actively involved in devotional services since age 5. He received his primary education from ISKCON Gurukul Vrindavan after spending 8 years of intense studying of Vedic scriptures. Later on he completed B.Com followed by MBA from Cornell University\, Ithaca\, NY\, USA and he also holds a Bhakti Shastri and Bhakti Vaibhav from VIHE\, Vrindavan. In 2013 after receiving the instructions from his spiritual master (HH Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj)\, he left his career and has taken the full time service of preaching and since then he has made a tremendous contribution with his soulful Kirtans! Govind Krsna Das endeavours to bridge ancient Bhakti yoga traditions with the contemporary world\, using the universal language of music.
