This ceremony of ‘vidya’ education\, ‘arambha’ beginning\, is another such event. As the child goes to get his/her education we want them to be able to digest what they learn and develop progressively. May their education make them people with good character\, good intellect\, and ability to make this world a better place. This ceremony is geared for this purpose. DESCRIPTION:Sun 16 Aug 2026 | 4:30pm-6:30pm | Sri Krishna Haveli\nAbout the evening\nJoin us for an evening of spiritual wisdom\, focusing on the glories of the Srimad-Bhagavatam. Of the innumerable collections of spiritual teachings found in Vedic literature\, Srimad-Bhagavatam is considered the topmost. Vedic literature is sometimes said to be a “desire tree\,” a tree that can yield whatever one might desire\, and of that tree the Srimad-Bhagavatam is said to be the ripe and most relishable fruit. \n About the speaker\nKartik Chandra Das was born and raised in a traditional Vaishnava family who trace their Vaishnava roots going back at least fourteen generations. From an early age he received training in devotional scriptures\, philosophy and Sanskrit language. Thus\, he had first-hand experience of Vaishnava tradition and culture as part of his upbringing. He met ISKCON devotees in 1993 and has been associated with ISKCON ever since. Srimad-Bhagavatam is his favourite literary work and he loves to enthusiastically share what he has learnt from guru\, sadhus and shastras. His other interests are in Children’s Education\, Sanskrit Aesthetics\, Paninian Grammar\, Linguistics and Philosophy of Science.
