We are unable to handle the amount of cars that would be visiting\, due to the bad weather and rainfall which has affected the parking fields. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.\nDarshan will remain open as normal and a ticket is no longer required to enter between 10am-8pm. Note that there will be no stage program.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInformation on tickets\n\n\n\n\nTo help ensure that every pilgrim\, visitor & well-wisher is able to have a pleasant experience\, we require you to book a ticket. If not you will be returned from the car parks. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCan I come for mangal arati and guru puja?\n\n\n\nYes. you are welcome to come to Bhaktivedanta Manor before 10am. But if you arrive during the event time (10am-8pm)\, then you will need an entry ticket to enter Bhaktivedanta Manor\, as without a ticket in those times\, you will not be allowed entry. If you arrive before 10am\, you will be allowed to stay for the rest of the day without a ticket. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow long can I stay?\n\n\n\nYou are welcome to stay and enjoy the festivities for as long as you like. Your ticket time only relates to your arrival time. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat if I arrive earlier / later than my booked arrival time?\n\n\n\nIf you arrive 30 mins before or after your booked arrival time\, then you will still be allowed entry. Any earlier than that\, we may ask you to please come back later\, closer to your booked time. Any later than that\, we will try our best to accommodate you\, but it may not be possible to allow entry due to limited parking. The name itself comes from Dipavali\, a Sanskrit word referring to the countless rows of lamps which His citizens had lit throughout the kingdom to welcome Him back home (dipa means “lamp\, light or candle\,” and avali means “rows”). During a different era\, this was also the day when Lord Krishna performed His childhood pastime of breaking pots of yogurt and letting His mother bind Him with rope. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Five Days of Diwali\n\n\n\n\nThe first day of Diwali is called Dhanvantari Trayodasi\, which is when Lord Dhanvantari appeared on this planet in order to give Ayurvedic medicine to mankind. On this day\, Hindus pray for protection from untimely death. \nThe second day of Diwali is called Naraka Chaturdasi\, and is the day upon which Lord Krishna destroyed the demon Narakasura and liberated the 16\,000 princesses which the demon had been holding captive. \nThe third day is the actual day of Diwali\, which is when Lord Rama returned to His kingdom after successfully rescuing Sita and defeating the demon Ravana. On this day\, Hindus pray for the blessings of wealth and prosperity\, and for the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness. \nOn the fourth day\, Hindus perform Govardhana Puja\, or worship of the sacred hill of Govardhana\, a tradition which Lord Krishna Himself started roughly five thousand years ago. \nThe fifth day of Diwali is called Bhratri Dooj\, which is a day dedicated to honouring the bond between brothers and sisters. DESCRIPTION:Thursday 8 September 2022\nMahatma Prabhu was born in Los Angeles\, California in 1950. In 1969\, at the age of 19\, he first met Srila Prabhupada through The Bhagavad Gita As It Is\, and then later that year met Srila Prabhupada personally in Los Angeles. In January of 1970 he moved into the temple in Berkeley\, California and shortly after received first and second initiation. He went on to do a variety of services including book distribution\, sankirtan leader\, temple president\, college preaching\, congregational development\, and various educational projects. No matter your age or beliefs\, everyone is welcome to join in the fun of throwing colours\, creating a feeling of unity between all. \nThe market stalls\, kirtan\, and other activities will be running from 4pm-9:30pm. To avoid and/or minimise stain\, vigorously shake out all dry excess powder before stepping into a shower\, or throwing your clothes in the wash. Once the caked dry colours get wet\, it is hard to get out. DESCRIPTION:Tuesday 28 June 2022\nSrila Bhaktivinoda Thakur (1838-1914) is a prominent preceptor acharya in our succession of spiritual masters and disciples coming from Lord Krishna. He was a pioneering spiritual leader\, a householder\, a magistrate working in colonial India under the British rule\, a prolific preacher\, writer\, and poet. He wrote volumes of books reintroducing the pure teachings of Lord Chaitanya at a time when those teachings had practically become lost. He composed hundreds of devotional songs glorifying Krishna to uplift the consciousness of the suffering people of this world. He corresponded with philosophers\, theologians\, leaders\, scholars\, and professors of his time and sent books\, including The Life and Precepts of Lord Chaitanya\, to university libraries in foreign countries\, planting the seeds for a worldwide movement of Krishna consciousness. Bhaktivinoda Thakur discovered and excavated the birthplace of Lord Chaitanya. Along with his devoted wife\, Bhagavati Devi\, he raised ten children\, including the illustrious Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur\, who would become a great spiritual leader in his own time and the spiritual master of ISKCON’s founder-acharya\, His Divine Grace A.C.
