What is Bhaktivedanta Manor?

Bhaktivedanta Manor is a spiritual sanctuary, a temple, a monastery and a place of contemplation and exploration for the spiritually inquisitive. It offers a retreat to a world of yoga, meditation, sacred music and dance, vegetarian food, festivals, courses, events and worship. All this is set alongside a gorgeous Krishna Temple within the mock-Tudor building. This unique centre is open to the public free of charge, all year round.

First time visitors

We recommend booking a tour for a complete experience. The tour will last about an hour and you’ll visit the main building and grounds including the temple, cow protection centre, gardens and woodland walk.

*There is no darshan between 1pm – 4:20 pm, except on Sundays and festivals when darshan extends from 12:30 pm – 3.45pm. On major festival days arati and darshan times can change. Please check the festival schedule for confirmation.

**There is a daily class/pravachan from 7:30am-9am and access for darshan will not be possible. Please come from 9:00am.

Entrance Gates to Bhaktivedanta Manor are locked at 9:30pm

    We strive to provide a pleasant and enriching experience for everyone. If you are a disabled badge holder, parking bays are available in the car park at the gate closest to the main Manor building. On Festival days there will be alternative parking areas.

    A ramp for wheelchair users can be found to the side of the main building. This is near the toilets, which include a disabled facility.

    On Festival days due to the number of people on site access to buildings and ground will change.

    If you require special assistance, especially if you are coming with an assistance dog, please inform us at least 72 hours in advance when you book.

     

    In order to maintain the atmosphere of sanctity on the Temple grounds, the following policy is now in place:
    As much as we love all animals, with the exception of guide dogs, no dogs on site.

    We welcome group visits. Let us know when you book if you have a group of more than 10 people as we’ll need to make arrangements. Group visits may incur a cost, especially if you require a meal (only available if booked during lunch time)

    Visitor Guidelines

    When you visit Bhaktivedanta Manor it’s important that you preserve and respect the sanctity of this place of worship. Bhaktivedanta Manor is the home of Lord Krishna, a place of daily worship that provides spiritual knowledge and upliftment

    As with most places of worship,  guests are expected to dress modestly.
    Please remove footwear upon entering any part of the Temple building. Shoe racks are provided.
    Children are welcome. However, visitors aged 14 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
    Smoking & vaping is not permitted on the grounds or in the buildings.
    No alcoholic drinks or beverages containing caffeine e.g. coke, tea, coffee allowed on the premises.
    Food (Prasad) can be purchased from the cafe or is available for all at set times. Non-vegetarian food is strictly prohibited – this includes fish, eggs, onion and garlic – or any food with these ingredients included.
    We have free car parking for our visitors while they visit the temple, no overnight parking is allowed.

    – Step-free access throughout (ramps and lift available – except for access to upstairs in the Temple Building & Goshala Building)

    – Extra wheelchairs can be provided, subject to availability on the day (excluding major events)

    – Disabled toilets

    – Assistance dogs accompanying disabled visitors will be looked after in a quiet place by one of our volunteers, with a drinking bowl of water if required, while visitors will be provided a personal chaperone / guide to enjoy their visit to the Temple.

    If you think you or your group will require special assistance, especially if you are coming with an assistance dog, please inform us at least 48 hours in advance by emailing info@krishnatemple.com or calling 01923851000, asking for Hospitality.
    Within the complex, volunteers are generally on hand if any assistance is required.
    You may take photos/videos for personal use.* The Management may take photographs, video recordings and / or other monitoring that may feature visitors/ volunteers and other personnel. The copyright and all other intellectual property rights for these materials rests with the Management or such authorised third party.
    CCTV cameras operate on the premises
