Vacancy: Compliance Officer

We are seeking a proactive Compliance Officer to ensure our operations remain fully compliant with UK laws, safety standards, and charity governance requirements. You will play a key role in safeguarding the wellbeing of our staff, volunteers, and visitors, particularly during large-scale weekend festivals and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee compliance across health and safety, fire safety, food hygiene, safeguarding, environmental standards, and charity regulations.
  • Conduct audits, risk assessments, and inspections across all site activities (temple, hospitality, farm, events, and facilities).
  • Support festival and event planning to ensure necessary permits, crowd management, and safety measures are in place.
  • Maintain compliance records, incident logs, and reports for trustees and senior management.
  • Deliver training and guidance to staff and volunteers on compliance standards.
  • Liaise with local authorities, regulators, and external stakeholders when required.

About you:

  • Knowledge of UK health and safety, food safety, and charity compliance standards.
  • Experience in compliance, risk management, or health and safety roles (NEBOSH or IOSH preferred).
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to influence and train others.
  • Flexible to work occasional weekends or evenings during major festivals.
  • Alignment with Bhaktivedanta Manor’s values and willingness to work in a spiritual and culturally diverse environment.

Location: Onsite at the Hare Krishna Temple, Bhaktivedanta Manor, Hilfield Lane, Watford WD25 8EZ

Hours: Full-time (weekend/evening work required during festivals and events)
