By Visakha Dasi | from the 12-part ‘Nurturing bhakti through loving exchanges’ series
The secret to overcoming the archenemies of good relationships – lust, greed, anger, and envy – is to realise that ultimately Sri Krishna is the controller, not us. Our position is to try our best in any endeavour and to let go; to be detached from the result. Ultimately, the result is not in our control, but in Krishna’s.
We can be confident that Krishna wants the best for each of us, but how that ‘best’ manifests is up to Him. What is in our control is to endeavour well, and to learn the lessons that result.
This world we’re living in is Krishna’s world. We didn’t create it, and we’re certainly not maintaining it. He has gifted us our bodies and abilities, and it’s His desire and directive that we use these in His devotional service. In this way, we’ll become peaceful and our relationships will become increasingly healthy.
October Challenge
When someone insists that they’re ‘right’, can we take a deep breath, remember Krishna and let it go? Can we apologise when we’ve said or done something we shouldn’t have?
