Empowering, protecting and inspiring women

DEVI, an initiative dedicated to empowering, connecting, protecting and inspiring women, in collaboration with Devotee Care, recently hosted a special Women’s Wellbeing event at Bhaktivedanta Manor. The event was appropriately sandwiched between International Woman’s Day and Mother’s Day.

Amongst the guests were Cllr Parveen Rani from Hertfordshire County Council and Visakha Devi Dasi, temple President of Bhaktivedanta Manor. The event was organised and facilitated by a dedicated team of vaishnavis, who created a warm and reflective environment throughout.

The programme began with an ice breaker, followed by a thoughtful session exploring the cyclic nature of a woman’s life and how to remain centred amidst change. Participants then engaged in healing movement, meditation and journalling, creating space for reflection and inner connection.

The Awakening Inner Resilience session brought both insight and lightness, using humorous skits to explore interpersonal responses and the four nervous system patterns: fight, flight, freeze and fawn.

The collaborative conversation held in the DEVI Cafe, offered a relaxed and nurturing space for connection and conversation. Within this setting, small discussions explored barriers to self-care across the different stages of womanhood. There was a nourishing ekadashi lunch and the day concluded with devotional kirtan.

Participants left feeling uplifted, nourished and inspired, a beautiful reflection of DEVI’s commitment to supporting women’s wellbeing through care and connection.
