The children and staff of Gurukula Hare Krishna Primary School were delighted to welcome Mother Visakha, a disciple of Srila Prabhupada and Temple President of Bhaktivedanta Manor. She made a special visit to read to the children and speak about her new book, Bhagavad Gita for Children – Feelings, inspired by the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita.
The session was both inspiring and interactive. The children thoroughly enjoyed listening to Mother Visakha and were especially excited by the opportunity to ask questions. Exploring the topic of feelings through the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita offered a unique and meaningful perspective, making the experience both educational and personally relevant.
The children shared thoughtful reflections following the visit:
“Hearing from Mother Visakha helped me to understand the book better,”
– Nandapriya
“I had many questions and Mother Visakha answered them very patiently,”
– Krishna
“It was interesting because nobody ever talks about feelings from the Bhagavad Gita,”
– Prajna
“In the book, I found out how to use anger in a good way,”
– Revati
“The visit left a lasting impression on the children, deepening their understanding of emotions while connecting them to spiritual wisdom in an accessible and engaging way,” said the Gurukula Headteacher, Gunacuda dasi
