Special report by Bhaktine Samantha:
On Saturday 20th September, Bhaktivedanta Manor welcomed over a hundred first-time visitors from Heritage Open Days—and what a day it was! Hosted by the joyful Krishna Wisdom crew, the event centred on curiosity, connection, and, of course, lashings and lashings of ginger tea.
Things began with classic British style: tea, biscuits, and chatter. Guests weren’t just admiring the mock-Tudor building—they came to explore the Hare Krishna tradition. After a short introduction, they split into groups for guided tours through the Manor’s history, values, and contemporary way of life.

Then came the cows. At the farm guests brushed, fed, and met our pampered herd. Many called this the highlight—a moving example of cow protection rooted in care and spirituality.

Back inside, there was more tea (to keep it British), a short film, Q&A, and a taste of kirtan. Shy at first, guests were soon clapping and singing along!
Delicious vegetarian food then had people queueing for seconds and thirds, leaving both hearts and bellies full.

As the day closed, feedback poured in: “inspiring,” “eye-opening,” “blissful.” Guests promised to return—our ultimate success. Huge thanks to Heritage Open Days for joining us. Welcoming open hearts to this sacred space is always a gift.
