Add us to your will

The Vedas teach us that the material body is temporary and the soul is eternal.  Most people avoid facing up to the fact that they will die and therefore miss an opportunity to prepare for their departure.

By including the temple in your Will, you can give others the same opportunity of spiritual advancement that you have benefitted from.  By facilitating the temple’s outreach efforts, many people will experience the good fortune of coming into contact with Sanatan dharma (the eternal religion).

Please consider making this contribution to the temple.  It is the simplest way to have lasting benefit for you and for your family.

We strongly recommend you seek advice from a solicitor when drawing up your Will.

Making a Will is an important way of making sure that, in due course, your wishes are respected and that family, friends, and causes that are important to you are acknowledged.

Anything you leave to Bhaktivedanta Manor, a registered charity, is exempt from Inheritance Tax. And if you leave 10% or more of your net estate to us then a reduced rate of tax may apply to what is left over. Special rules apply though, so seek legal advice if you are planning to do this.

If you are making or amending your Will and wish to leave a proportion of your estate, or perhaps a fixed cash sum, to help the Bhaktivedanta Manor, you can use the appropriate form of words below.

Suggested wording for leaving a gift to Bhaktivedanta Manor

For a Residuary Legacy

I give all (or ..%) of the residue of my estate after payment of my funeral and testamentary expenses, my debts and all the gifts in this Will to ISKCON Bhaktivedanta Manor (charity number 1157877), absolutely and I declare that the receipt of the appropriate temple officer shall be a complete discharge to my executors.

For a Pecuniary Legacy / Cash Sum

I give to ISKCON Bhaktivedanta Manor (charity number 1157877), the sum of £……….and I declare that the receipt of the appropriate temple officer shall be a complete discharge to my executors.

For a Specific Item

I give to ISKCON Bhaktivedanta Manor (charity number 1157877, ……….(short description of item) and I declare that the receipt of the appropriate temple officer shall be a complete discharge to my executors.
