Bhaktivedanta Manor had the pleasure of hosting Rev’d Canon Will Gibbs, Executive Residentiary Canon of the historical St Albans Cathedral. The visit was organised by Her Grace Vishaka Dasi (Temple President), Vinay Tanna (Head of Communications) and Radha Mohan das (Secretary), with the aim of forging closer links between Bhaktivedanta Manor and St Albans Cathedral.
Rev’d Canon Gibbs, who oversees mission and pastoral care, safeguarding, and environmental initiatives, engaged in fruitful discussions with the hosts. The visit was marked by a mutual exchange of ideas on faith, community service, and environmental stewardship. The devotees were pleased to present Rev Gibbs with the Bhagavad Gita As It Is and the interfaith book produced by the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies.
Her Grace Vishaka Devi expressed her delight at the opportunity to connect with her guest, saying, “It was a joy to speak with the Dean about the commonality of our faiths in fostering love of God, but also about safeguarding the environment. Our shared values create a strong foundation for future collaboration.”
The visit concluded with a touching moment as Rev’d Canon Gibbs participated in feeding the cows at Bhaktivedanta Manor, symbolising the harmony and respect for all living beings that both faiths uphold. The event was a significant step towards building a stronger, united community committed to spiritual growth and environmental care.
