Krishna says, “Of secret things I am silence.” (Gita 10.38) Each of us needs at least one person in our lives who we can trust implicitly, who won’t judge us for our darkness, and who will love us despite everything. Krishna is such a Person, and His devotee may also be.
A sincere person who we’re accountable to, who has high yet realistic expectations of us, who will hold us to our ideals and goals, and who will offer us honest and objective feedback, is a gift, for that person can keep us true to our spiritual path and even speed up our journey. Let us remain grateful and receptive to what that person has to say.
To begin this journey we need a sense of discernment so we can determine who is trustworthy. Once we find that person, we need to be straightforward with them, and we need to take their words seriously.
