A delegation of monastics from the Skanda Vale community recently made the long journey to Bhaktivedanta Manor to learn more about New Gokul, its facilities, and the way it is managed. The visit formed part of their efforts to develop their own cow protection initiatives and expand their farm project.
Among their hosts was Shyamasunder das, who has many years of experience managing ISKCON goshalas and shared insights into the practical and spiritual aspects of cow care.
They also visited the Ahimsa Eco Farm in the county of Rutland,
Skanda Vale is a multi-faith, Hindu-inspired monastery, pilgrimage centre, and ashram nestled in a secluded valley in Carmarthenshire, southwest Wales. Like Bhaktivedanta Manor, it was founded in 1973 and is home to a resident community of monks and nuns. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge and strengthen ties between two communities committed to devotional life and compassionate animal care.
