Nearly sixty years ago, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) began its journey from a modest storefront at 26 Second Avenue in New York. Today, that global movement continues to inspire millions—and its 60th anniversary was marked in style at Bhaktivedanta Manor.

On Saturday 21st March, celebrations opened with readings from the Srila Prabhupada Lilamrta, bringing to life the extraordinary journey of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. A highlight followed: a heartfelt video message from Mukunda Maharaj, who personally witnessed the movement’s humble beginnings.

The audience was then treated to a charming drama by Gurukul children, portraying Srila Prabhupada’s historic arrival in the West. Interactive group discussions and a lively quiz added energy and participation to the morning.

Devotional music lifted the atmosphere further, with inspiring performances by Sakshi Gopal Das and the Bhakti Choir. A particularly moving moment came with the unveiling of 60 framed letters written by Srila Prabhupada—each a window into his personal guidance and enduring legacy.

The celebrations culminated in the evening with a vibrant maha harinama procession through central London, where devotees of all ages came together to share joy, music, and spiritual unity with the public.

The event was organised by Nrityapriya Radha dasi and Acyuta Gauraprema das.
