Many charming pastimes involve Sri Chaitanya and His devotees taking prasad together in great jubilation. It’s described how “all the devotees sat down to take their lunch in consecutive lines, one beside the other.” Previously, Sri Krishna had taken His lunch in the forest encircled by His dear friends. Similarly, Sri Chaitanya and His companions sat together, and Sri Chaitanya, knowing what preparations each person liked, arranged to have each person served their favourite preparations to their full satisfaction. (CC Madhya 12.168)
Following this example, we can invite people to our homes and share prasad with them. Whether we serve simple or opulent prasad isn’t as important as the affection with which we offer it to Sri Krishna and serve it to our guests. As Krishna is pleased by the love and devotion of our offerings, so our friends and relatives will appreciate our thoughtfulness, care and affection in sharing prasad with them.
