Course Description
A foundational online session introducing a practical and devotional framework for deepening the quality of our japa.
Understanding japa as a journey from mechanical chanting to conscious connection
Introducing the Four Gates through which attentive chanting develops:
- Physical Alignment & Fundamentals: posture, breath, pronunciation, environment, and basic chanting discipline
- Mind & Intellect: working with distraction, intention, remembrance, and scriptural understanding
- Heartfelt Emotions: bringing gratitude, dependence, longing, and personal prayer into the Holy Name
- Surrender & Mercy: recognizing that real taste comes by humility, grace, and taking shelter
- Identifying common obstacles that weaken our daily chanting
- Preparing participants for the in-person deep dive
- Offering simple reflections and practices to begin transforming one’s japa immediately
Teacher Bio
Madanagopala Prabhu is a dedicated servant of Srila Prabhupada whose Krishna conscious journey began in 1991 at the age of 14, when he joined ISKCON Nairobi. In 1999, he received initiation from HH Satsvarupa Dasa Gosvami and has since rendered service in numerous leadership, educational, and outreach roles within the movement.
He currently serves as the ISKCON GBC Zonal Supervisor for five U.S. temples, Co-Director of ISKCON Communications for North America, and Assistant Minister for Fund Development. Professionally, he works as an IT Director at a leading U.S. firm. He resides in New Jersey with his wife, Manasi Ganga mataji, a dynamic preacher and leader in her own right. Together, they have raised their 23-year-old son in a Krishna conscious environment, exemplifying how spiritual life can be successfully integrated with professional and family responsibilities.
Madanagopala Prabhu is especially known for guiding modern devotee families in the practical application of scriptural wisdom amid today’s busy and complex lifestyles. Through his deep devotion, relatable insights, and inspiring presentations, he continues to uplift hearts and transform lives wherever he speaks.
